2. You get the pickup area and the donor's instructions (porch, garage, time window).
3. Bring a helper and straps. You load it. The donor doesn't have to.

If a sofa is too good for the curb but not worth a weekend of selling, list it at $0. Tips that get furniture claimed fast:

• Measure it (W × D × H) and put the numbers in the description. People need to know if it fits through their door.
• Show any flaws up close. Honest photos stop no-shows.
• Say where it is: “in the garage, ground floor” versus “third-floor walk-up.”
• Give a pickup window. Furniture that sits for weeks is usually furniture with no window.

Thrift chains and charities sometimes pick up furniture donations, but many have size, condition and scheduling rules, and some won't take sofas at all. Listing it here puts it in front of a person who actually wants that piece. If no one claims it in a reasonable time, a charity pickup or bulky-waste day is still there as a backup.
